A Vest of a Different Color

I don't generally knit vests and I don't generally knit garment with variegated yarn.
For the Bug I have done both.  Mom gave me the yarn and I knew it would be for The Bug.  Way more her colors.
The yarn is Three Irish Girls in an Alpaca/Merino combo.  Nice and warm and soft and so wonderful to knit.  The pattern is Cyclades Vest from that same e-book I got the other sweaters I've made for The Bug this year.  Proving that I really am liking this designer.  And so is The Bug.
The Bug thanked me and said how much she likes it!  Love that and I cherish it for surely it will end in about 7 more years.  Oh the button.  From the button jar as always.  It's a cute plastic rose in a dusty barely pink.  Tonally really works with the yarn and being a big stand alone button just all around works in style too.
I like the sweater ok.  It fits her well and look good on her.  It's her style and I think she'll get a good amount of use out of it.  I'm still wary and not in love with the variegated in a garment though.  Or maybe at least not for myself or maybe  not anyone over the age of 8.
We were at the Orchid Show at the Botanical Garden today.   Only our third visit this week.  This time to show Daddy around after a nice brunch.

once again you prove what an awesome mom and crafter you are. Bug looks great in the vest.
